Today, we’re going to learn how to crochet this adorable little dinosaur! Please grab your green yarn and crochet hook, and let’s get started together!

Round 1

we’re going to crochet 6 single stitches. So, what is a single stitch? It’s the most fundamental technique in crochet! We’ll also guide you through it step by step in the video below!

Single Stitch

The pattern is written in US terminology and crocheted in the round

sc -- single crochet

So, in Round 1, crocheters love abbreviations, and in pattern language, that's written as:

sc x 8   (8)

Since the pattern is: sc --  single crochet,

and sc x 8  means 8 single stitches,

(8)  means the total stitches.

OK, I know you already understand a little bit.

Now, let go on!

Round 2

In this row, we’re going to learn about increases. Increases help us shape our crochet projects and are a basic technique.

increase Stitch

The pattern is written in US terminology and crocheted in the round

inc -- increase crochet

You’ll be happy to know that increases are built on single stitches! If you’ve mastered the single stitch, then increases will be a piece of cake for you!
Let me share a simple way to think about it:

when you make one single stitch in a stitch, that’s called a single stitch.

But if you make 2 single stitches in the same stitch, that’s an increase.

So, doubling your single stitch creates an increase!

Now I think you got it! let's show the pattern of this round and go on crochet!

[sc, inc] x 4 (12)

Or with a lot more words:

[1 single crochet stitch,1 increase crochet stitch] for a total of  4 times= 12 stitches

Since 1 increase crochet stitch is 2 single crochet stitches

that is:

[ 1 stitch+2 stitch] *4=12 stitches

Go ahead with the video:

🎉 **Good job! You've learned to crochet the single stitch and the increase stitch!** 🌟

Round 3

[sc, inc] x 6 (18)

Or with a lot more words:

[1 single crochet stitch,1 increase crochet stitch] for a total of 6 times= 18 stitches

that is:

[ 1 stitch+2 stitch] *6=18 stitches

Go ahead with the video:

Round 4

[inc, 2sc] x 6 (24)

Do 1 increase crochet first.

Finally, crochet 2 single crochets in the one after that.

Repeat that sequence of stitches 6 times. You'll have 24 V's once you've finished this round.

Please follow the video:

Right side & Wrong side

In crochet, the “Right Side” and “Wrong Side” refer to the two sides of a piece of crochet fabric. The right side is the side of the fabric that is typically seen or displayed, while the wrong side is the side that is usually hidden or not seen.

Follow the video to understand what is the right side and wrong side.

Rounds 5-9

The pattern of rounds 5 to 9 is the same :

24 SC

(24)

According to the pattern,

There are single stitches all around in rounds 5 to 9,

In this video, we only show round 5.

Relax and keep going!

Round 10

[3sc, inc] x 6 (30)

Add safety eyes

Safety eyes aren’t safe for children younger than 3 years old, or pets. please take care!

1 it may be between Round 8-9, count it from the top. find two points in the middle, insert 2 pins to mark
2 Replace a pin with a bead

3. Turn the piece over so you can see the end of the bead

4. place the washer, flat side toward your piece, onto the bead.

5. Put the safety eye on a table and push down on the washer with both thumbs, so that it cinches the fabric evenly

DONE!

Rounds 11-16

The pattern of rounds 11 to 16 is the same :

30 SC

(30)

According to the pattern,

There are single stitches all around in rounds 11 to 16,

Relax and keep going!

Before we go to Round 17, we need to know the decrease (dec) stitch.

Decrease (dec) Stitch

Decreasing in Single Crochet, dec (This pattern is written in US terminology)

*Joining two single crochet stitches together at the top to make it become one stitch is how you decrease in single crochet. This tutorial teaches you step-by-step how to decrease in a single crochet.
