Q-Dinosaur
Today, we’re going to learn how to crochet this adorable little Dinosaur! Please grab your green yarn and crochet hook, and let’s get started together!
Round 1
we’re going to crochet 8 single stitches. So, what is a single stitch? It’s the most fundamental technique in crochet! We’ll also guide you through it step by step in the video below!
Single Stitch
The pattern is written in US terminology and crocheted in the round
sc -- single crochet
So, in Round 1, crocheters love abbreviations, and in pattern language, that's written as:
Before learning single stitch.
We need to know some crochet patterns.
This pattern is written in US terminology and crocheted in the round
sc x 8 (8)
Since the pattern is: sc -- single crochet,
and sc x 8 means 8 single stitches,
(8) means the total stitches.
OK, I know you already understand a little bit.
In this video, I will show you how to crochet the single crochets.
Now, let go on!
Round 2
In this row, we’re going to learn about increases. Increases help us shape our crochet projects and are a basic technique.
increase Stitch
The pattern is written in US terminology and crocheted in the round
inc -- increase crochet
You’ll be happy to know that increases are built on single stitches! If you’ve mastered the single stitch, then increases will be a piece of cake for you!
Let me share a simple way to think about it:
when you make one single stitch in a stitch, that’s called a single stitch.
But if you make 2 single stitches in the same stitch, that’s an increase.
So, doubling your single stitch creates an increase!
Now I think you got it! let's show the pattern of this round and go on crochet!
[sc, inc] x 4 (12)
Or with a lot more words:
[1 single crochet stitch,1 increase crochet stitch] for a total of 4 times= 12 stitches
This is a chart to explain the stitche pattern of round 2:

Good job! You've learned to crochet the single stitch and increase stitch.
Now this round will be easy for U,
Round 3
[sc, inc] x 6 (18)
Or with a lot more words:
[1 single crochet stitch,1 increase crochet stitch] for a total of 6 times= 18 stitches
Go ahead with the video:
Now, we'll work on Round 4,Let's show you the pattern:
Round 4
[inc, 2sc] x 6 (24)
Or with a lot more words:
[1 increase crochet stitch,2 single crochet stitch,] for a total of 6 times= 24 stitches
Please follow the video:
Right side & Wrong side
In crochet, the “Right Side” and “Wrong Side” refer to the two sides of a piece of crochet fabric. The right side is the side of the fabric that is typically seen or displayed, while the wrong side is the side that is usually hidden or not seen.
Follow the video to understand what is the right side and wrong side.
Rounds 5-9
The pattern of rounds 5 to 9 is the same :
24 SC (24)
According to the pattern,
There are single stitches all around in rounds 5 to 9,
In this video, we only show round 5.

2 Replace a pin with a bead
3. Turn the piece over so you can see the end of the bead
4. place the washer, flat side toward your piece, onto the bead.
5. Put the safety eye on a table and push down on the washer with both thumbs, so that it cinches the fabric evenly
Rounds 11-16
The pattern of rounds 11 to 16 is the same :
30 SC (30)
this is :
All the single stitches in rounds 11-16(no video)
Relax and keep going!
Round 17
In this round, we’re going to learn about decreasing stitches.
So, what is a decrease? It’s when we combine 2 stitches into 1 stitch, and it’s a common technique in crochet. We often use increases and decreases to shape our crochet projects.
Decrease (dec) Stitch
Decreasing in Single Crochet, dec (This pattern is written in US terminology)
But don’t worry; decreasing is quite simple! So, let’s keep a positive mindset and continue learning together!
This is the pattern for this round:
[4 sc, dec] x 5 (25)
- Do 2 ️single crochet stitches at first.
- Then a decrease crochet stitch in the one after that.
- Repeat that sequence of stitches 5 times. You'll have 25 V's once you've finished this round.
Round 18
[3 sc, dec] x 5 (20)
Round 19
[dec, 2 sc] x 5 (15)
Stuff amigurumi
***
- How you stuff your amigurumi greatly affects its shape – lumpy or smooth, saggy or plump.
- If you don’t add enough, your amigurumi may look sunken in.
- If you add too much, the stuffing might be seen from the outside of your work.
- It takes time to learn how much stuffing to put in your work, but don’t worry – you’ll get a feel for it with some experience
- Pull apart a thin piece of polyfill, and shape it into roughly the same diameter as the bottom-most point of your work.
- Put this layer of polyfill in your work.
- Push down on the polyfill from all angles, to make it consistently flat. Keep adding thin layers of polyfill, adjusting the diameter of it as the diameter of your work changes.
Round 20
sc , 7 dec (8)
Do 1 single crochet at first.
Then 7 decrease crochets in the end.
You'll have 8 V's once you've finished this round.
Now, let go on!
Wow, that’s amazing! You’ve completed 90%! I’m so impressed with your learning ability and your incredible patience! The final 10% will be a piece of cake for you!
