Today, we’re going to learn how to crochet this adorable little chick! Please grab your yellow yarn and crochet hook, and let’s get started together!

Round 1

we’re going to crochet 6 single stitches. So, what is a single stitch? It’s the most fundamental technique in crochet! We’ll also guide you through it step by step in the video below!

Single Stitch

The pattern is written in US terminology and crocheted in the round

sc -- single crochet

So, in Round 1, crocheters love abbreviations, and in pattern language, that's written as:

sc x 6   (6)

Since the pattern is: sc --  single crochet,

and sc x 6  means 6 single stitches,

(6)  means the total stitches.

OK, I know you already understand a little bit.

In this video, I will show you how to crochet the single crochets.

Now, let go on!

Please take out your Yellow yarn, and let’s embark on our crochet journey together! 💙🐥

Round 2

In this row, we’re going to learn about increases. Increases help us shape our crochet projects and are a basic technique.

increase Stitch

The pattern is written in US terminology and crocheted in the round

inc -- increase crochet

You’ll be happy to know that increases are built on single stitches! If you’ve mastered the single stitch, then increases will be a piece of cake for you!
Let me share a simple way to think about it:

when you make one single stitch in a stitch, that’s called a single stitch.

But if you make 2 single stitches in the same stitch, that’s an increase.

So, doubling your single stitch creates an increase!

Now I think you got it! let's show the pattern of this round and go on crochet!

Round 3

🎉 **Good job! You've learned to crochet the single stitch and the increase stitch!** 🌟

Now, this round will be a breeze for you! Or, to put it another way:

If you want to see what’s in store for Round 3, be sure to watch this video! 🎥 You’ve made it past the tricky part—figuring out the motions and following a pattern. For the next few rounds, you’ll keep practicing the single crochet (sc) and increase (inc) stitches.

Round 4

In crochet, the “Right Side” and “Wrong Side” refer to the two sides of your crochet fabric. The right side is the one that’s typically displayed, while the wrong side is usually hidden.

Follow the video to learn how to identify the right and wrong sides. 😊

**Important:** Safety eyes aren’t safe for children under 3 years old or for pets, so please take care! 🐾

1. It may be between Rounds 7-8, with 5 stitches between the two eyes. Count from the top to find two points in the middle, and insert 2 pins to mark them.
2. Replace one pin with a bead.

3. Turn the piece over to see the end of the bead.
4. Place the washer, flat side toward your piece, onto the bead.
5. Put the safety eye on a table and push down on the washer with both thumbs to cinch the fabric evenly.

Round 13

In this round, we’re going to learn about decreasing stitches!

So, what is a decrease?
It’s when we combine 2 stitches into 1 stitch, and it’s a common technique in crochet. We often use increases and decreases to shape our crochet projects. 🌈

Decrease (dec) Stitch

Decreasing in Single Crochet (This pattern is written in US terminology)
But don’t worry; decreasing is quite simple! Let’s keep a positive mindset and continue learning together! 💪

Start with 2 single crochet stitches,

then a decrease crochet stitch in the next one.

Repeat that sequence of stitches 8 times,
