How to use a crochet ring

We understand that many beginners might find it challenging to hold the yarn, so we've created a helpful tutorial on using a crochet ring. If you still feel unsure about holding the yarn after finishing your first round, we invite you to watch this video for some guidance!

Single Stitch

Before learning single stitch. We need to know some crochet patterns.

This pattern is written in US terminology and crocheted in the round

sc --  single crochet

Round 1

crochet 6 single stitches. Crocheters love abbreviations, so in pattern speak, that's written as:

sc x 6   (6)

Since the pattern is: sc --  single crochet,

and sc x 6  means 6 single stitches,

(6)  means the total stitches.

OK, I know you already understand a little bit。

Now, let go on!

Wow! You've done the hardest round,
what‘s proving you have a talent for crocheting?
All you need to do is keep patient!

        Round 2

crochet 6 increase stitches. Crocheters love abbreviations, so in pattern speak, that's written as:

inc x 6   (12)

Since 1 increase stitch = 2 single crochet stitches in the same stitch,

1 increase stitch counts as 2 stitches.

This means the pattern could've also been written like this:

[2 single crochet stitches in the same stitch] x 6

And

2 stitches x 6 = 12 total stitches

OK, I know you already understand a little bit。

Now, let go on!

Round 3

Good job! You've learned to crochet the single stitch and increase stitch.

Now this round will be easy for U,

[sc, inc] x 6 (18)

Or with a lot more words:

[1 single crochet stitch,1 increase crochet stitch] for a total of 6 times=18 stitches

If you want to see where we're going with Round 3, watch this video:

Round 4

[2sc, inc] x 6 (24)

Or with a lot more words:

[2 single crochet stitches,1 increase crochet stitch] for a total of 6 times=24 stitches

If you want to see where we're going with Round 4, watch this video:

See, you are done!

Good job!

Round 5

[3sc, inc] x 6 (30)

Round 6

[4sc, inc] x 6 (36)

Round 7

[5sc, inc] x 6 (42)

Round 8

 42 sc  (42)

this is :

All the single stitches in round 8.

we need to work in the front loop.

Let's check out the video to learn about front and back loops!

Rounds 9-19

 42 sc  (42)

this is :

all the single stitches in rounds 9-19.

These few rounds are quite straightforward.

We just need to watch out for the starting chain stitch and the slip stitch at the end.

We can keep crocheting until row 19, even though the video only demonstrates up to row 9.

Round 20

42 sc  (42)

this is :

All the single stitches in round 20,

and we need to work in the back loop.

Round 21

42 sc  (42)
