We understand that many beginners might find it challenging to hold the yarn, so we've created a helpful tutorial on using a crochet ring. If you still feel unsure about holding the yarn after finishing your first round, we invite you to watch this video for some guidance!

Single Stitch

Before learning single stitch.

we need to know some patterns of crochet.

This pattern is written in US terminology and crocheted in the round

sc --  single crochet

*** If you want to learn how to crochet, single crochet is one of the most important stitches you need to know. A majority of crochet patterns and projects incorporate single crochet stitches.

Single crochet is one of the easiest stitches to master. Once you've learned the single crochet stitch, there are infinite possible ways to use it. You can work it in rows, in rounds or spirals, as edging, in different parts of the stitch for different effects, and combined with other stitches in countless variations.

Round 1

After watching the video, we should show the stitches in this round.

crochet 6 single stitches. Crocheters love abbreviations, so in pattern speak, that's written as:

sc x 6   (6)

Since the pattern is: sc --  single crochet,

and sc x 6  means 6 single stitches,

(6)  means the total stitches.

OK, I know you already understand a little bit.

Now, let go on!

The pattern of round 2 :

sc x 6   (6)

(6)  means the total stitches.

There are single stitches all around,

Relax and keep going!

Wow! You've done the hardest round on the previous page,
What‘s proving you have a talent for crocheting?
All you need to do is keep patient!

Increase stitch

In this round, we need to learn the increase stitch.

Increases in stitches

Increase stitch is make two single stitches in the same hole, that is all.

A single stitch is already completed, then:
2. Insert the hook into the same stitch
3. Yarn over to start the 2nd single stitch
4. Draw through the same 1 st single stitch
5. Yarn over to complete the 2nd single stitch
6. 2 single stitches are in the same stitch= Increase stitch

Please see the video if you are still confused about the increase crochet!

After following the video, let me show the stitches in this round.

Crocheters love abbreviations, so in pattern speak, that's written as:

[ inc, sc] x 3 (9)

Or with a lot more words:

[1 increase crochet stitch, 1 single crochet stitch] for a total of 3 times= 9 stitches

Since 1 increase crochet stitch is 2 single crochet stitches

that is:

[ 2 stitches+1 stitch] *6=9 stitches

Do 1 increase crochet stitch at first.

Then 1 single crochet stitch in the one after that.

Repeat that sequence of stitches 3 times. You'll have 9 V's once you've finished this round.
