Increase stitch is make two single stitches in the same hole, that is all.

Now we need to learn the pattern of Round 2 :

Since the pattern is: sc -- single crochet,
inc -- increase crochet,
(24) means the total stitches.
Do 1 single crochet stitch at first.
Then 1 increase crochet in the one after that.
Repeat that sequence of stitches 8 times. You'll have 24 V's once you've finished this round.
